In the shadows of my childhood home
Dreams of flight, yet feet of stone
The weight of aspirations, heavy and grand
Anchors me here, in familiar land
Jobs come and go, like whispers in the wind
Promises of prosperity, always rescind
Business ideas, elusive as morning mist
Each venture fades, opportunities missed
Parents’ roof, both comfort and cage
A stage for dreams that never engage
Yearning for freedom, for a world anew
Yet bound by fears, and prospects few
But hope’s ember glows, against the night
One day I’ll soar, beyond this plight
